Here's a method for making easy tags to go on a scrapbook
page - nothing special, just easy.
Place your pictures and text on a background paper.
Select your background paper.
Use the standard selection tool (rectangle). If your
background paper is an object instead of the base image, be
sure to click on the "select on object" button in the
attributes toolbar.
Now select an area around your text, being sure to leave
some border space (not up tight against the text).
Right click, convert to object. If necessary move your new
tag below the text.
If you don't have your quick color controls tools visible,
choose preferences(F6), tools, and check show quick color
controls.
Click on the quick brighten several times so your tag is
lighter than the background paper.
Choose the Charcoal tool. Pick a color from your background
paper. Use the color picker to pick a darker color from the
same hue. Adjust the size of the charcoal tool to your
liking, and then Paint on Edges on the tag 2-5 times, until
you like the result.
If you like, before doing paint on edges, change the color
to multicolor in the tool settings panel and use a high
number in the delta brightness setting(58), and lower
numbers (0-10) on the other two sliders.
Hope you can use this technique. Happy Scrapbooking!
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I liked writing
it for you.
If you wish to do so, post your results in the Scrapbook and
Crafts forum of the
PhotoImpact International Bulletin Board. Thank you!
